After years of serving up free lists, software, and research to our members and guests, the donations are not covering the costs of maintaining the site. So far, since 2003, we have been fortunate enough that generous people have either donated their time, money, or servers. Donated servers have always come with problems of bandwidth and downtime. Recently we secured a dedicated list server with SnowmanUK's help.

Our few active admins are concerned about the future of the site and services.

Currently, the monthly goal amount of 441.49 comes from our monthly server fees - 194 + 225 + 12.50 + 9.99 in USD. This provides the main web site, backup site, list server, proxy service, domain names, lookups, and more. Although the site will be down for a few days as we figure out how to survive, the lists will continue to be updated. If it comes down to it, we may end up having to move the main server elsewhere, shut down some services, or completely shut down the site. So far, when the monthly payment is due, we have either had the money in the account, or the owner of the ISP has given us leeway (allowed us to have a balance due). "Letting us slide without paying" will no longer be an option.
