Listen, I'm looking for some softs that'll log what's going on in the machine.

Particularily when installing software from an unknown source, I'd like to see what it's up to. Some sort of log. And/Or some step by step "allow/deny" thingie. Hate to just click "go" or "install" and then just let it happen...

Somewhat separate from that, anyone know of any soft that'll keep a file history? showing origin (url/data medium/program, etc...), what software operated on it, where it has been on the system (previous locations) and (if it applies) how it was deleted.

Does either sound like any soft you've ever heard of?

Something like one of these?
