Hi all,

I just registered to this Forum because i received an e-mail from my isp.
It said that the BSA had complaint about the fact that i would be sharing software.
And that they would only give my adress if they had a court order. (Dutch law) tongue.gif
So my ISP asked me the stop sharing....This scared me. blink.gif
So i started to think on how i could keep BSA (And others) off my pc.
Suddenly i remebered that XP has some kind of host file that contains IP-adresses that will be blokked...
(Or something like that) EUREKA..... cool.gif
so i started to search the web for the ip-range that is owned by BSA.
And than i found this site. I read about the ProtoWall and installed it.
But i am still wondering if it is possible to block these IP-adresses in the XP-host file ??
And if it is possible (Or not) Whats's the reason we don't use it ?

And if BSA really drags people to court ?

Thnx,

the HOSTS file will NOT block IP ranges. It is a ghetto-l33t local DNS Server, sir. It is meant to translate "hostnames" into IP address form, which is the form needed for a computer to navigate to the desired website.

Thanks!
