Please, I need help! For no reason at all - emule started saying that my ip address is part of a "ipfilter.dat" which is preventing me to connect or even worse, download anything on Emule. This is quite fustrating... I have gone to many sites trying to understand how this could of happen, but no clue how it got there nor how to fix it. How can someone have the power to block your ip address and then making it so difficult to correct, it's not fair.

Could you please help me get my ip address off the blacklist -ipfilter.dat , so I can use emule again...please.

Thank you in advance for your assistance

ok, do you use our lists in emule?

I do not think it is from out lists, but could you pm you IP to me so we can check?

You would have had to put our url in emule to get our lists. They are to the left of the page here, in the box that says

Other Lists

List Info Tool
---------------------------
* No Defaults *
* Just Choices *
---------------------------
ed2k IPfilter:
---------------------------
Paranoid ipfilter.dat:
(all lists) only use if you
know what you are doing!!
ipfilter.dat.gz: Jan.24
Normal IPFilter.dat:
IPfilter.dat.gz: Jan. 24

Check in options/Security where it says:

Update from URL:(filter.dat- or PeerGuardian-format)

see if our bluetack URL is in there

Also check the list that is in your emule by going to... the Edit button on the same page and see if your ip or ip range is actually in your Emules ipfilter.dat.

The most likely cause for this, usually is that you are using someone elses list in Emule not ours.

Check that and let me know your IP in a PM here on the forum and what URL is in that box, if there is one.

Hi Firstaid -

I tried to pm you with my ip, but feature is not allowed... I thought you could see that info from my post?

I checked the url in emule- this is what if found:

http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/nieuwe_...es/ipfilter.dat

Also could not find the "edit button" to verify list as per your instructions...see below.
"Edit button on the same page and see if your ip or ip range is actually in your Emules ipfilter.dat."

This is what I get when trying to conect to emule:

1/27/2006 8:53:41 PM: ERROR !! Saugstube !! (193.138.221.214:4242) - Your IP is part of ipfilter.dat file
1/27/2006 10:07:41 PM: ERROR Donkix 1.0 (83.149.98.3:4661) - Your IP is part of ipfilter.dat file

1/27/2006 10:49:51 PM: ERROR ChezToff (Serveur Fr) (213.186.60.106:4661) - Your IP is part of ipfilter.dat file

1/27/2006 10:49:08 PM: ERROR !Magic high speed line! (64.34.194.180:7632) - Your IP is part of ipfilter.dat file

Even when I connect, regardless of having a low or high id, I still can't download or upload anything.

Please let me know how to proceed. This is all new to me and a bit confusing, so your help is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
firstaid
That URL you gave does not seem to be a direct download but rather a link to some sourceforge lists that have our lists in them.

Here is a pic of where the Edit... button is , I xed it out for you. Open the ipfilter.dat with the edit button and see if your ip is in there. And yes, I see your ip, I just do not like to freak peeps out tongue.gif you are not in our list.

One Big Sorry.....I should have specified that I was using emule-plus and not the orginal emule program. That is why I couldn't find the "edit button" , eMule Plus Version 1.1f ready has none.

Anyway, am I to understand that you checked your lists and my ip is not included in your lists...is that correct??

If that is the case, and the problem is not with your lists, can you offer any suggestions as to where else I can check. Are there any other similar sites that do track ip addresses to be used for ipfilters?

Thanks again for your help and guidance,
firstaid
It is always standard prot to ask for the ip, as some people come from proxies and may be at a friends house when posting in the forum, so we need to make sure.

Yeah, your ip is not in our list.

It is hard to tell where this blocklist is from. let me install emule plus and get back to you.

OK, after downloading and installing emule plus your ip is not in the default ipfilter nor in the ipfilter.dat when you update it from sourceforge.

It could however be in yours, in c:/ program files/emule/config/ipfilter... right click and open with notepad.

I would say hit the update button and see if you still have the problem.

It would be impossible to tell what list this is coming from unless you open and edit the ipfilter and see your ip in there, you are in bad shape. Alot of times the people who make the lists put information in them saying who they are and how they compiled the lists etc.

Has this always happened or did it just start recently?

do you have windows firewall on? and if so do you have emule + set to open the ports?

Are you using a proxy that may be blocked?

Have you tried main servers like razorback 2.0 and 2.1 and the edonkey servers in the 62.241 range?

there is just to many things to look into, I am sure all servers are not blocking you, that would be almost impossible for them all to be using the same system of blocking.

Have you tried using different ports? Could you ISP be blocking default emule ports?

1/29/2006 5:16:30 PM: 111573 IP filters loaded and your ip is not in the current updated list.

Just want to say thanks! I had the exact same problem. In emule Plus I went to Preferences\Advanced\Security and hit the "Update" button as you suggested. A new ipfiter.dat downloaded & installed. Reconnected and no error message this time. Have been trying for several weeks to fix this.

Thanks,
