I am using the emule p2p software. I get the following message in the log when I try to connect to certain servers. 'Your IP is part of a filtered netblock'. How can I rectify this?

Hi , william

Your not in any of our lists or the bogons list, so the Emule server must be blocking you. Can you connect to any servers? wich ones are you not able to connect to? Your isp may be blocking ports for emule, have you tried changing ports? Do you have a router that could be blocking emule?

Could you be trying to connect to a fake server sending you that message?

Do you use our lists?

I can connect to razorback 2.0. I cannot connect to the following: Big Bang, ChezToff. How do I change ports? How do I find out if I am connecting to a fake server? Many thanks. William.

ok, if you are connecting to razorback then your ports are open. That is if you get a high id when you connect?

If you are using our lists you are most likely not connecting to a fake server, I did just update mine and got 32 new servers that need to be looked at though.

Changing ports can be done in the app if you are not using a router, if you are using a router you will need to foward ports to match that in your app. You can change ports in options/connections in emule.

It is my guess that these servers are blocking you.

Nothing we can do about that.

firstaid,

I get a low id when I connect to servers. How do I go about getting a high id?

You said that if I am using a router I will need to foward ports to match that in my app. How do I do this? Excuse me for asking too many questions.

Many thanks,
William.

http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

It is different for each router, the link above should give you an idea. find your router in the list and read up on it wink.gif

I just give mine the name Emule1 and Emule2 in my router and foward the port that I use in emule's options/connections/ client port... 4662 TCP and port.. 4672 UDP. It is best to use a different port than the defaults I gave. Like use port 46625 or 46725 as an example.

good luck!
