Sorry, let me clarify. I have PG2, and I loaded the latest gnutella blocklist from BT. The general internet connection slowed down considerably, causing most webpages to load slowly and some not to load at all.

I tried to load in your updated gnutella list with the same result. I searched the list my IP, my service provider's IP, or the network IPs, but could not find any of them on the list.

Tried both lists on my laptop with the same result. In addition to the old gnutella blocklist, I use the dshield, trojan, level1, and peerguardian P2P lists. Have not used Shareaza or Gnutella in awhile since I have not been able to get the new gnutella blocklist working.

Okay, I see where I was confused. The Bluetack gnutella templist is my list, so you might have gotten one of
my older ones from a few days earlier. The latest one is always available on Bluetack, though you may sneak
ahead of them once in awhile if you go straight to my web folder: gnutella.zip

Since PG2 seems to be bogging down, try ProtoWall instead and see if it performs better.

If you're still having slowdowns watch the log and see if anything looks like it's affecting your modem or
router. Report back here with more info on your internet connection, such as the ISP, your IP address and
what hardware you are connecting through.

Aaron,

You need to clean this up -- you have hundreds of bad entries. I can't recommend that anyone use this list with PG2 as it is.

These should not be in your list, for example -- they're not routeable on the internet. The last line will cause DHCP to malfunction!

Go through your list and make sure that these are not in there:

My WINS server, and a loopback address (127.0.0.1) were on one of the lists. I removed both and they work fine.

Whoops! None of that was supposed to be in there at all! I wonder how that happened?

Download a fresh one from my web space. jester.gif

I just realized how terse my message was. It was not supposed to convey an ungrateful attitude. Sorry about that!

Thanks for making the fix!

No problemo. I didn't see it that way. My mistake for not making sure the exclusions worked.

I think I'll set up a second copy of BLM just for this list. Switching imports and exports around to produce this
list and the Fullsize List is leaving an opening for this kind of error.

Aaron,

I'm not sure you've seen this -- I haven't DL it myself ... but it's part of the MediaDefender leak from this weekend:

sorry, i'm new to this
can i use this list in blockpost

thx
Aaron.Walkhouse
You would have to convert it to the blockpost format with BLM.
I think it will work well if Outpost can handle large lists because it isn't overly paranoid.
