Hello to all of Bluetack users and guests.
Comodo ( http://www.comodogroup.com) is a internet security company that gives free lifetime support for varius product from wich the most interested ones are Comodo Personal firewall and Comodo antivirus.
After downloading the Comodo Personal firewall 2.0.0.1 and personally testing it(on 03 & 04 May 2006) I thought that others would like to see the leaktest results:
Leaktest01 : Leaktest =passed
Leaktest02 : Tooleaky =passed
Leaktest03 : Firehole =passed
Leaktest04 : Yalta =passed
Leaktest05 : OutBound =passed
Leaktest06 : PCAudit =passed
Leaktest07 : AWFT =passed
Leaktest08 : Thermite =passed
Leaktest09 : Copycat =passed
Leaktest10 : MBtest =? (was not ably to run it because of my windows native language more information on http://www.firewallleaktester.com/leaktest10.htm)
Leaktest11 : WallBreaker =passed (on May 03 2006 it passed only 1 of the 4 Wallbreaker tests but after contacting the support team of comodo and an update released on May 04 2006 it passed all 4 of them)
Leaktest12 : PCAudit =passed
Leaktest13 : Ghost =passed
Leaktest14 : DNStester =passed
Leaktest15 : Surfer =passed
Leaktest16 : Breakout =passed
Leaktest17 : Jumper =passed
The programs from the leaktests was downloaded from http://www.firewallleaktester.com a great site with reviews of varius firewalls.
Conclusion:
Pros: The Comodo Personal firewall passed all the 16 leak tests that I maneged to perform which make it the most advanced personal firewall for the moment.
It is very easy with a nice intuitive interface and even novice users want have any difficulty in using it.
The support is excellent ; they responded at my request after 12 hours.
They give a lifetime license and support for free.
Cons: none
Hope that you will find this information usefull wink.gif

Well I'm testing it now and it looks good but it's starting to annoy me.

After installation it crashed 3 times in the first 5 minutes from some conflict with the Regrun file rrshell.dll , I closed Regrun and then another problem shows up. laugh.gif

Then while im trying to look through creating rules etc in the tasks window, the stupid launchpad thing pops up and steals focus from the actual firewall and after closing the launchpad I can no longer access any part of the firewall.

Only way to get around this , is to terminate the firewall in task manager and start all over again.. And I'm just stuck in this loop. everytime I try to look into the tasks section for example, the rules window will simply dissappear and the firewall is useless. Maybe I should just stay away from trying to create any rules ? Have you had any problems like that pandlouk ? I just cant click anywhere on the firewall at all , nothing responds.. This is still just the trial version.

I would rather not have to wade through so many windows just to get to the actual firewall functions. Splash screen is pointless. launchpad is annoying..

I dont like this much so far , can you tell smile.gif .. but I'd like to be able to at least use it for a little while before removing it.

Comodo seems to have some great features , especially in the advanced security settings.. From what I've been able to see so far it's like a watered down version of Tiny Pro firewall with different graphics. biggrin.gif

It certainly is no comparison to Outpost in my opinion. OP has the best real time network monitor for viewing all connections , I cant get used to any other firewall which doesnt have a feature as good as that..

If I can figure out why it keeps malfunctioning I might be able to test it properly. Their help file is good though..

/edit : I threw it away , going with Outpost 4 instead.

There will be a new version on august 24. From what I can see from the beta 2.3.3.33 it will rock.

ps. 1) I liked so much this firewall and the fact that they give almost instant support through their forum, that I got stuck in there. Now I am a moderator in their forum cool.gif

2) Congrats for the new style/skin of the site. It is absolutly fantastic clapping.gif
