Hi,

pipfilter.dat is blocking the 192.167.208.000 - 192.168.255.255 network, labeling it 'Universita' (line 77883). This IP range spans IANA's private class C network 192.168.0.0/16.
Is this a typo?
At least some of the 192.167 range is used by unife.it.

I ran into this issue while using your ip filter with utorrent - it was blocking 192.168.1.1 (my gateway); I am not sure how this affects bittorrent traffic, if it does at all, but it seemed odd (and if you*do* know, I would love to hear it).

If this is a stupid question, I apologize.

Thank you for the great list (and software),

This block is a result of ranges being merged adjacent with blm for the pipfilter. The comments get merged and then cut off to save BW, so the comments are not accurate.

The pipfilter.dat does contain those IANA ranges as they are used to spoof traffic and clog your p2p app.

You should not be getting your router traffic in utorrent, I find that highly suspicious and would want that blocked. Kazza lite used to check your connection by going out 10.0.0.1, I am not sure if utorrent does something like that now or not, I have not used it in a while.

Not a stupid question at all, always good to ask about strange things like this. wink.gif

Maybe someone using Utorrent will have a better insight on this.

I fired up ethereal, and there is communication from my gateway to utorrent's listen port (that would have presumably been blocked by pipfilter); there's a TCP handshake initiated by the gateway that, when completed, is followed by what ethereal calls 'Bittorrent Handshake' inititated by the gateway to which my machine sends a FIN/ACK.
I am going to post this on the utorrent forum; just thought I would follow up.

Thanks for your help.
