System Safety Limited is pleased to announce the first release of System Safety Monitor 2 Free Edition.
SSM 2 freeware is based on the SSM 2.0.8 code base.

The main advantages of the regular (shareware) version (2.1+) by now:

1. the new real-time Registry Monitor fully integrated with the process monitor with the learning mode support. Many built-in objects and default rules to facilitate configuration;
2. the new improved design of the "Application Activity" dialog box;
3. multiple other GUI improvements;
4. low level disk access handling (killdisk trojan);
5. the new services module;
6. multiple performance optimizations;
7. high priority support;
8. high priority development.

IMPORTANT NOTE for Windows 9x users: Windows 9x is not supported in 2.1+. The functionality of 2.1 would be too hard to implement for Windows 9x and we can not afford that given the Windows 9x market perspectives.
However SSM 2 freeware will continue to support Windows 9x as much as possible.
