Hi all , just wanted to let everyone know Kimberly has released an updated version of her awesome Hosts Manager & Hosts Switch smile.gif

Hosts ManagerVersion 2.0.0.0 / Hosts Switch 1.3.1.0 is now available free from the download section

Hosts Switch is part of the Hosts Manager installation , but is also avaliable seperately for your convenience.





Fixed
  • F1 didn't bring up the help file.
  • Edexter line stays on top.
The new features include
  • New collapsible Search / Options panels - can be hidden or visible by clicking on the small arrow (see rollup / rolldown).
  • Disable / Enable DNS Service.
  • Hosts file is not sorted by default (read more in helpfile about this).
  • If not sorted you can list your own IP's on top (see helpfile).
  • Move up and Move down items if your hosts file is not sorted (see help file).
  • Added option to Insert a new entry at current position if hosts file is not sorted (see help file).

New Hosts Switch [1.2.2.0-1.3.1.0] features include :
  • The popup menu has a new entry called "Add Hosts Entry"
  • New Tray Icons
  • Included a help file. You will need Acrobat Reader. F1 brings up the help file.
Add Hosts Entry



An input box will show up on your screen to add the new website. Just enter the website, don't type the IP prefix (127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0), it will be added automatically.




Tray Icons

The Tray Icon will now show the state of the Hosts file : disabled or enabled
A left click on the Tray Icon will restore the program on the screen. A right click on the Tray Icon brings up a menu.






Do you have a skinning soul ?

You can now create your own styles for the Hosts Switch. By default it comes with 4 matching forums skins.

Very important : Please uninstall all Hosts Manager versions prior to 1.7.0.0 through Add / Remove Programs before installing the new release
