BlinkŪ Personal Edition

eEye Digital Security's BlinkŪ Personal Edition combines intrusion prevention, application and network firewall, identity theft protection, and vulnerability assessment into a single, unified client security solution. With Blink, you are ensured both proactive and reactive protection against the broad methods of attack and compromise used by hackers to gain access to your system and personal data.

Blink Personal brings the security of Blink Professional to the home desktop by offering:

* Defense Against "Zero-Day" Attacks
Blink's multi-layered, intelligent approach means personal computers are protected against brand new attacks that take advantage of previously-unknown computer weaknesses. Blink also protects against new variations of existing attacks that may not yet be detected by antivirus signatures. Using this technique, eEye's Blink software was able to fend off widespread exploits like CodeRed and Sasser, even without the security patch installed.

* Protection from Phishing and Identity Theft
Blink uniquely protects you from attempts to gather personal and financial information via malicious websites and emails.

Blink Personal Edition brings to the consumer an unprecedented level of protection, in a single, small-footprint agent that requires very little user interaction and setup.

Blink Personal Edition features the following protection for your home machine all rolled into one product!

* System Firewall
The system firewall controls the flow of data by examining each packet and determining whether or not to forward the packet toward a specific destination.

* Application Firewall
Blink's application firewall prevents the execution of programs or dynamic link library files that have been tampered with. If an intruder gains entry to your computer, destructive activity can be forestalled because the application firewall does not allow any suspected malicious code to execute.

* Intrusion Prevention
Blink understands the unique characteristics of attack traffic and blocks it. Blink recognizes the content of network traffic at a high enough rate to be able to block malicious connections and allow legitimate traffic to get through.

* Identity Theft Protection
Blink identifies and responds to attempts to gather personal and financial information from your computer.

* System Protection
Blink's various methods of system protection provide proactive security against "zero-day" attacks. In addition, Blink offers protection against buffer overflow and memory-based attacks, and helps maintain compliance with security policies by providing granular control over programs and data.

* Local Vulnerability Assessment
The vulnerability assessment engine in Blink defines, identifies and classifies security weaknesses on your computer.

* Trusted and Banned IPs
Blink allows you to define access based on IP for sending, receiving and retrieving messages, while keeping unauthorized users out.

* Neighborhood Watch
Blink captures attack information into event logs and, as you update Blink Personal Edition through our Auto-update feature, attack information is shared with eEye's Research Team to develop even better protection tools in Blink Personal. Your privacy is protected as this data never contains personal or private information and is aggregated to abstract out even the source of the data. With this information, we are able to monitor the new methods and attack models that hackers are using to proactively protect you and your virtual neighbors.
