Hello,

I've been using Peerguardian 2 for quite some time, but iv always wondered is there a real difference between photowall and PG2, they seem to serve the same purpose.

Is it just a matter of taste or what?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah they both block IP's, the basic difference is in the coding,

As far as I know Protowalls driver blocks packets on the network layer, PG2 blocks on the application layer - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSI_model

Correct. We don't let the packets enter your operating system at all, we reject them in the network stack. Technically this means it would be harder for a rootkit or similar to get around Protowall.
