What is WS_Ping ProPack?
WS_Ping ProPack is an integrated set of Internet diagnostic and information tools. WS_Ping ProPack provides an easy-to-use graphical interface to the most commonly used Internet tools, including Ping, Traceroute, DNS lookup, Finger, Whois, LDAP, SNMP tools. This set of tools helps you quickly track down network problems and find information about users, hosts, and networks on the Internet (or on an intranet). In addition, WS_Ping ProPack lets you test web addresses, synchronize your local computer with a time server, and test the throughput on a connection.
WS_Ping ProPack runs on Windows 98, 95, 2000, and Windows NT systems and can query any device on a TCP/IP network, including PCs, UNIX systems, and routers.
Info provides information (including hostname, IP address, contact information, network availability) about a specified network host or device.
Time synchronizes your local computer’s clock with a remote time server and lets you query multiple time servers and compare the results.
HTML is a diagnostic tool that lets you query a web address (URL) and view the full header information and page data returned by the HTTP server.
Ping is a network diagnostic tool that verifies connectivity to a particular system on the network.
Traceroute is a network diagnostic tool that lets you trace and view the actual route an IP packet follows to an Internet host.
Lookup queries Internet domain servers for information about hosts and other domain name servers.
Finger queries some Internet servers for information about users who are registered on that server (provided a Finger server is running on the remote host).
Whois queries the database at Network Information Centers (NICs) for information on the networks, hosts, and users of any organization that registers with the NIC.
LDAP queries directories that use the LDAP Internet standard. Many organizations use LDAP to make user information (such as names and e-mail addresses) available on the Internet or on their intranet.
Quote gets quotations from a Quote server.
Scan searches a specified network and lists the TCP/IP hosts it finds. Scan can also identify services (such as FTP, HTTP) on each host and list the active ports on each host. Scan can give you a quick summary of what’s on your network and what network services are running.
SNMP queries values on devices that implement the Simple Network Management Protocol. SNMP can provide a closer look at the hosts and devices in your network by providing current operating status and configuration information.
WinNet scans your local network and lists the Microsoft Windows network devices and shared resources.
Throughput_tool tests the speed of data transfer between your computer and a remote computer.
The About box displays network information about your local computer and your local network, as well as information about WS_Ping ProPack.
