Hi All , I have been using Peergaurdian2 with protowall with out any problems I love the software even though the learning curve for me took a while these two pieces of software work great, I use Sygate firewall which is ( or is) becoming outdated I did a search and found Ghost wall and was thinking of using this instead of sygate but there are two things that I am not sure of the first is isn't ghostwall the same thing as Peergaurdian2? also if it isn't the same thing how do config this firewall because it is totally different then Sygate. Now if you are wondering why I want to use Ghost wall well it is becuase I am building a new computer which is going top be running a windows 64bit OS and Ghostwall is comparable and also leaves a very small foot print ( so I have heard) SO could anyone explain or point me in the right direction where I can find out more information on Ghostwall?

Did a quick search and came out pretty much empty-handed , it seems there`s little public impact this software has had so far . Maybe this might help a bit though . According to SoftPedia their last update on the matter was September 2005 , which kind of second-guesses the possibility of it being a proper Sygate replacement . You do realize you can easily stick with good ol Sygate if properly configured , . If you just have to replace it ( which again i see very little reason to ) you might give this a chance . Word of advice : If it ain`t broke(n) , don`t fix it wink.gif

Last I looked Ghostwall was a very basic firewall and not much compared to Sygate.

Ghostwall is more like a one step up from the inbuilt windows firewall and two steps down from sygate.

Peerguardian [ and Protowall ] are not intended to replace a firewall, they are designed to block IP addresses when you don't have a firewall that can handle/import large blocklists.

If you need any help with Ghostwall try their forum section at wilders - http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76
