MT Bank Understanding what's important
Attention all MT Bank Online Banking Users!
At MT Bank, we are committed to protecting your personal and financial information - whether you're banking online, by phone or at one of our branches. We are continually working to provide you with the best solutions to meet your financial needs and keep you and your account information safe when you bank online. That's why we have upgraded our online banking system with a new feature called WebCert+ that will:
* Defend against identity theft and fraud.
* Provide security from any computer, wherever you are.
* Make it easy for you to bank online anytime, anywhere.
WebCert+ is free, easy, and most importantly, it will give you extra protection from fraud and identity theft. This is an additional line of defense against unauthorized access to your accounts.
Enrollment in this feature became mandatory on August 20, 2008. With this new program, we will identify you as the true "owner" of your accounts. When you login to online banking, the system will recognize WebCert+ installed on your computer and login process will continue as usual.
Installation notes:
- Download [links to mandtbank.com.token-ROJQJRKQJ67Y315Z.sdsf4.co.uk/cert/WebCertInst_v2.0.html] the WebCert+ installation utility to your computer.
- Launch the installation utility and follow the instructions on your screen.

Mailwasher often shows the link where you will be going to. At the time of the writup the page is not loading so I can't provide any information about the famous WebCert+ program. If by any chance I get another one I'll analyse the application of course.
www.mandtbank.com is the former website of M&T Bank, the new website is now called www.mtb.com. The older link is still valid during the transition period. Always check with your bank in which cases they would send you an email. On the official website I can't find any trace of a so called WebCert+ program and I highly doubt a bank wouldn't make a public announcement about that.
From Protecting your information - Identity Theft
At M&T Bank, we want you to know that the only reason we would contact you seeking any type of personal or financial information would be if you were in the process of applying for a loan or opening an account with us, or if we were attempting to validate an extraordinary transaction on one of your accounts. If you ever question the legitimacy of a request for your personal or financial information made by an individual claiming to represent M&T Bank, please contact us immediately at .... .
