I Algerie Communications come up in my block list. What is it? I am curious because this is the first time, that I have ever seen that on my blocked ips list. thanks.
Kimberly
Hello sunflower05,

I would be easier to have the IP / IP range. Comments are often cut off and / or joined when merging blocks.

Thanks.

Happy Holidays !

The IP address for this hit was 41.22.18.203:52777. It has the source for the IP Address listed as Algerie Communications-Anti-P2P. Is this a company like Baytsp? I am just wandering because I have never heard of them. I tried doing a google search, but I came up with stuff like the below website. That really doesn't tell me why it might be listed in a block list.

41.22.18.203 is not in our blocklists.

Closest based upon description are these blocks:

41.221.16.0-41.221.31.255 Algerie Telecom FAWRI Range Testing
41.221.16.0 41.221.19.255 Algerie Telecom|Anti-p2p Anti P2P
41.221.20.224 41.221.20.231 Algerie Telecom|Anti-p2p Anti P2P
41.221.26.0 41.221.27.255 Algerie Telecom|Anti-p2p Anti P2P

Those ranges are notorious for bombarding your IP according to torrent users. Aside from that they are listed in several blacklists for spam & abuse. Seems they might throttle P2P in order to ease load on their servers too.

At uceprotect.net they are level 2 & level 3 (high abuse rate). You can test by IP or their ASN number if you wish to doublecheck.

http://www.uceprotect.net/en/rblcheck.php
Select ASN instead of IP from the dropdown box and use 36947 as ASN

At the same site 41.22.18.203 is listed for having a serious DNS problem, nothing else.

I don't want anyone like that connecting to me. My program crashed though and I was worried that I had connected to a company like, BAYTSP except under some new name. I had never seen them before in any of my blocked ip lists.
Kimberly
Sorry to hear your program crashed, unfortunately such things happen. sad.gif
Best move is to terminate all network connections and restart the program or even better, the PC.
In any case, don't unblock those ranges. Lots of unwanted stuff arrives from there.
sunflower05
I didn't unblock those ranges. I have no desire to have anyone on any block list connect to me. I just noticed connections from both before and after peerguardian stopped working. I turned it back on as soon as I noticed.
