I have many PCs in my house, all of which use blocklists. It gets tiresome having to config and update all the computers. Is there a way/program that will implement IP blocklists on my residential router, or would it be simpler to keep on keeping on with installing/maintaing blocklists on all of my PCs?

Hi evvekk,
I'm personally not aware of a program able to add IP's to a router. It's usually something that needs to be done manually. Keep in mind that some computers on your network might require exlusions and that will be a pain to set up if the blocklist is stored into a router. IMHO it would be way more simpler to update each pc separately. Another option is updating a single PC and send the "resulting file" to all pc's over the LAN connection.

That's what I was afraid of... One of the reasons why I want it on the router is so that I don't even have to bother installing a blocklist on the various PCs. Oh well, I guess I'll keep on keeping on. And do some more digging... Maybe look into setting up a local proxy or something.
Yarg. And TYs.

I set up one of my PCs as the gateway between the modem and the rest of my LAN.
That way, only one computer needs the lists.
Most routers simply are not powerful enough.
