Does anyone know if Netscape Radio (aka Radio@Netscape) has any spyware? I of course assume anything for free does (present company's software of PW and BLM excluded of course wink.gif ) so I run Spybot and AdAware.

I however notice packets to Napster and Intel as well as a few others being blocked and can't think what on my system would be sending that. The only things I was doing at the time was listening to Netscape Radio (Which should be spyware free now since I ran Spybot and AdAware. Yes? No?) and ripping some of my CD's using Windows Media Player.

I like to keep this Netscape Radio running while gaming and usually while gaming I shut down everything else including PW (with the exception of Norton Internt Security and Anti Virus) because some programs interfer with gaming at times. (I keep Netscape Radio on because the in game music can get repeatative and boring.) If however these packets are coming from this Netscape thing I will run PW while I run it always.

Any other ideas what is sending those packets?

Fired up both again and watched the log to video. Netscape looks clean and I think Windows Media Player is the culprit. Heavens no!! It can't be true!! Say it ain't so Johnny!! Microsoft screwing with our privacy? Never!! Perish the thought!!

Actually all sarcasm aside I am a bit pissed that a piece of major software like that would be sending packets. Maybe I am over reacting and these things are harmless.

I still don't really like it but am not too worried as I rarely use WMP. Only use it to rip CD's cause I like the interface and it is simple and fast. To play my stuff good ol Winamp does the trick and I never see it sending any thing. I would still like input from others though.
