In the "Bad Websites" thread I mentioned this gigantic HOSTS file I got accumulated.

Well, here it is

Kimberly, if you wish, you can add what you want of the entries to the B.I.S.S. HOSTS file.

It was accumulated/put together through google searches for "HOSTS file" and such.

Your giant hosts file did give me some ideas to improve our Hosts Manager, you can read more about the changes in the Hosts Manager topic.

Apparently a lot of people don't always pay enough attention when creating HOSTS files. By using the latest version of the Hosts Manager, a lot of them will be corrected but I still found some other entries that look invalid imo, I probably missed a few too. I can't correct those remaining invalid entries by programming routines. I did try but it will discard valid entries too, which isn't acceptable.

I did attach a file which contains most of the invalid entries (I hope so) since your HOSTS file is really huge to go thru. Maybe you want to have a look at them.

oh wow, a few invalid entries indeed. yea, I can't trace them to the exact HOSTS file I downloaded, since I used so many, but yea, I can see where you're coming from.

Glad it was of help in advancing the effectiveness of the B.I.S.S. HOSTS Manager hehe.

A new module that should help you in tracing invalid entries. The procedure still needs the user's input... but should be able to list most of the 'doubtful' entries I hope.
